Air Quality |The summer heat in Florida can be excruciating, and without a way to stay cool, it can be unbearable. Aside from staying inside in the refreshing AC, here are a few options to satisfy your need to stay cool.

1. Strawberry and Watermelon Rosé Popsicles

This refreshing and tasty treat is perfect for a hot day by the pool. Use fresh fruit in the pops to add an even better flavor to them.

What you need:

  • 10 ounces dry rosé
  • 8 ounces watermelon juice
  • 2 ounces blood orange liqueur
  • 1 ounce agave nectar
  • 1 ounce lime juice
  • 8-9 sliced strawberries
  • Watermelon<

How to make:

Start by chilling the rosé. This will make freezing the popsicles faster. While the rosé is chilling, juice your watermelon in a juicer or in a blender. If you use a blender, make sure to strain the juice. Combine the rosé and watermelon juice along with the orange liqueur, agave nectar and lime juice in a bowl and mix well. Take the sliced strawberries and put two or three in each mold. Pour the Rosé mixture into each mold leaving about ¼  of space at the top so the popsicle doesn’t expand over the container.

2. Peaches and Cream Popsicles

This popsicle is a great choice for the whole family, and incorporates a seasonal, delicious fruit as one of the ingredients.

What you need:

  • 1 ½ cups Greek vanilla yogurt
  • 2 ½ cups fresh peaches (pureed)
  • 4 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp peach liqueur (optional)
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup peaches (diced)

How to make:

Start by straining the yogurt with an ultra-fine sieve or use a cheesecloth over a bowl. The easiest way is to strain the yogurt overnight and prepare the popsicles in the morning. Once the yogurt is strained, combine the yogurt,  peach puree, honey and vanilla extract in a food processor. Process the ingredients until smooth. Fill each mold with the mixture, but leave space at the top to add the diced peaches. Use a small spatula to mix the diced peaches with the mixture to spread them throughout the popsicle. Insert the popsicle sticks and freeze for six hours. Once they are frozen, let the popsicles sit at room temperature for around five minutes before removing from the mold.

3. Key Lime Pie Ice Pops

Love key lime pie? Then this is a recipe for you! The sweet yet sour flavors of this popsicle is a favorite among both kids and adults.

What you need:

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • Juice from 2 limes
  • 3 Tbsp honey
  • ½ cup graham cracker crumbs
  • Thin lime slices

How to make:

Whisk the whole milk, sweetened milk, lime juice and honey together in a bowl. Once the ingredients are combined, fill each mold about halfway and freeze. Once frozen, add a thin layer of graham cracker crumbs to popsicle and pack it down. Add a lime slice and fill the rest of the mold with the key lime mixture. Freeze thoroughly and enjoy!
